Setup Prerequisites & Infrastructure

Kyubit Business Intelligence is a standalone OLAP web application designed for the Microsoft OLAP tools and Business Intelligence environment. It integrates seamlessly with the Microsoft software stack, which forms the core prerequisites for a successful installation.

BI software prerequisites Server-Side Prerequisites

To install Kyubit BI, the user requires Administrator privileges on the target server. The following server-side components must be configured and available prior to starting the setup procedure:

  • Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 or Windows 10/11
  • .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 / 4.5+
  • ASP.NET Features (IIS Role)
  • MS SQL Server (2008 to 2022) for the internal application database. Any edition (including Express) is supported.
  • MS Charts (Bundled within the Kyubit BI installation package)

IIS and ASP.NET activation Activate IIS and ASP.NET Windows Features

If Internet Information Services (IIS) and ASP.NET features are not yet active, follow these instructions to enable them before proceeding with the Kyubit BI setup:

WINDOWS SERVER ENVIRONMENTS

  • Launch Server Manager from the Start menu.
  • Navigate to Manage -> Add Roles and Features.
  • Select Web Server (IIS) from the Server Roles list.
  • Under Role Services, ensure Application Development -> ASP.NET is checked.


WINDOWS DESKTOP (7/8/10/11)

  • Open Control Panel -> Programs -> Turn Windows features on or off.
  • Enable the Internet Information Services checkbox.
  • Expand World Wide Web Services -> Application Development Features and select ASP.NET.
