Integrate OLAP Dashboard KPI

Member Properties

Display OLAP dimension Member Properties within OLAP Report organized in columns. At any time add Member Properties from any OLAP dimension that exists on the category axis and make your report more descriptive. Position 'Member Properties' in the order of your preference with right click on its cells or choose to display 'Member Properties' titles. Member Properties are visible in grid view, OLAP report view and in exported Excel analysis.
To add Member Property columns, right click on the Member -> Show Member Properties -> Add.

Filter data based on User Properties

Use current user Login Name, Real Name or create Custom Properties to filter data for current user. Create one query, analysis and dashboard that will show different data for different users. User properties filtering could be used on query, analysis or dashboard level. To select User Property as filter within analysis or dashboard, open Filter dialog form for particular OLAP dimension and click on the icon in upper right which will bring menu to choose from User Properties that will be used to filter data. While creating SQL/MDX query, simply include [[UserPropertyName]] that will be replaces with actual user data in run time.

Toggle Analysis Panels

Toggle (show/hide) filters, measures and cube structure panels within Grid Analysis to have more space for data while analyzing data on smaller screens. Analysis with many filters and measures lacks of screen space when using on laptops or smaller monitors. Cube structure on the left side also is taking amount of screen space that could be alternatively used for analysis data itself. Toggle buttons available aside cube structure, filters and measures could be used at any time to show or hide same panels leaving more space for analysis data cells in the main screen section.

Mini Column Chart (KPI / Card)

KPI and Card visualization includes option to show values as mini column chart. Previously values of KPI and Card visualization could have been visualized only with Line Chart. At any time in design view toggle between two mini chart options. Presenting data recent changes with small column charts, in some cases is visual more attractive than Line Chart option.

Other features and improvements...

  • Create subscription to receive analysis as Excel file. Analysis will be converted to Excel including Chart image and send as attachment to subscription email message.
  • Improved performance while analyzing OLAP data that includes large number of columns and rows. Analysis definition stored in internal Kyubit database is simplified, making analysis load and saved faster, which is more important and noticeable when dealing with analysis that include large number of members on category and series axis.
  • New version includes additional IIS application instance Kyubit ServiceEndPoint that is primarily used by subscription service (Resolving Authentication Issues). New application instance is automatically created on next available port on your machine after existing instance and it is visible in your IIS Manager. Subscription service should connect to 'ServiceEndPoint' to serve created subscriptions, because 'ServiceEndPoint' should always be configured to use Windows Integrated authentication. If you configure your main application instance to use 'Login Form' authentication, to use 'Mobile view' you should also connect to 'ServiceEndPoint' URL from your mobile devices.
  • Define default OLAP analysis aggregate function within web.config file. If you prefer that all users automatically use preferred aggregate function (without having to go and change their user settings), simple open web.config file locate "DefaultAnalysisAggregation" key and change to one of available values (None=0, Sum=1, Min=2, Max=3, Count=4, Avg=5, [All]=6).
  • Define default OLAP Dimension filter tab (Browse or Search) to be opened within web.config file. By default, Filter dialog automatically use "Browse" option which loads dimension hierarchy to select members and "Search" is optional. In some cases, loading hierarchy members takes time and user would prefer to use "Search" option primarily and "Browse" option as secondary approach.
  • KPI has option to be excluded from Dashboard slicer filtering. By default, KPI data is automatically sliced with Dashboard filters. Optionally, open tile in design view and change if this KPI accepts dashboard filter while retrieving data from data sources.
  • Improved product setup procedure. Product setup is more resilient to various environment configurations, especially when configuring IIS available features.
  • Use URL parameters as filters when opening Dashboard (Improved). If dashboard contains SQL or OLAP filters, same could get values from URL by adding @param=value in dashboard query string. For OLAP filters, it is no longer required to defined filter value titles as they are now automatically resolved.
  • Use Dashboard 'Table' chart to show any data, not only numeric (Improved). By default, all charts use numeric values to render visual presentation, while 'Table' chart has option to use 'Any data' and ability to render query that includes columns which consists of any data type values. 'Table' chart has ability to recognize and render 'Data bars' only for numeric columns within data set from MDX/SQL query.
  • Use export to Excel from 'Published' OLAP report.
  • Improved support for Firefox and Safari browser.
  • Improved PDF export of dashboard data.
  • Minor fixes and improvements.
